Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 56 - 05-29-10

Craig is in Boston, so VSR is in the hands of a motley crew. Join Face Ventura and whomever else is going to be joining in with him on this strange substitute teacher version of Vertically Striped Radio. I have a feeling I know who will be the Wanker of the Week, and it's the man in the mirror.

Major Minority Report - Episode 16 - 05-24-10

I'm not going to lie... this is the show we cried about it. Our buddy Rick told us about the tragedies in his life, Nycole did a pop culture review and told us about the tragedies in her life, Doug is starting to confront his sex addiction, and we had zero laughs! Anyway, thanks to Craig Dodge and face ventura for calling in at the end, adding to the show. And look out for me enhancing Rick's audio in the next day or so. SLAYER!

LCS Hockey Show - Episode 171 - 05-22-10

Cousin Brandon's Lost-apalooza
Cousin Brandon took calls from his many fans and yapped about "Lost" for nearly two hours before passing out in a drunken stupor. Features appearances by The Ed, Mitch, Larry, and Cousin Dave Dameshek.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 55 - 05-22-10

It was another Saturday on BlogTalk's best Self Help show! Face Ventura and The Whale both joined in with Craig to discuss naming which sports stars would be best for captains of their respective cities. Face seems to think Joe Sakic is a better all-time captain for Denver than John Elway, which is clearly insane. We discussed Pittsburgh, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and even Philadelphia a bit later on in the show when Elevation called in to discuss the Survivor Finale. Craig also unveiled his Magnificent 7 list of the top seven Muppets of all time. A very controversial topic, to be sure. We followed up that list with a Muppet related Duel...Which Kermit the Frog song do you prefer? "The Rainbow Connection" or "It ain't easy being Green." The last 15 minutes were spent in discussion with Elevation Radio's John Kline where we discussed Philly's city captains along with the most ridiculous banners/retired numbers hanging in stadiums and arenas across America. It's tough to beat Washington DC hanging a banner for the WNBA Attendance Championship.

The Ed Show - Episode 80 - 05-20-10

The Ed Show
The Ed gave some advice on how to discipline kids, but The Baby still managed to take over the show. The Ed also unveiled the latest Good Side/Bad Side. Sucks to be you, Home Depot.

LCS Hockey Show - Episode 170 - 05-19-10

We started out with playoff hockey talk. Zippy The Wonder Chimp graced us with his presence. The Ed stopped by to tell us that Brett and Bobby Hull had died plus to tell us he was delivering pizzas again. 5-0 was here for some movie reviews. And that was all in the first hour. Cousin Brandon filled the second hour with some fantasy baseball chatter, tales of his trip to Texas to see our girlfriend and he and mikedell commented on Larry's Top 11 most hated songs. Screw The Boss!

Major Minority Report - Episode 15 - 05-17-10

On the big show tonight we had a pop culture review followed by a bagel review. Nycole also spoke about her TV debut, Craig Dodge called in and helped us talk about pick up basketball and defended whiteness, and finally, Doug gave us relationship advice. Try it. You'll like it, or you'll get a full refund.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 54 - 05-17-10

A short little show...Tiny bit of news, The Week in Wankery, and a Bluegrass cover of MGMT.

Slammed! - Episode 2 - 05-15-10

Face Ventura and Larry get drunk before the show and maintain/increase their blood alchohol level throughout. If you want to hear a lot of cursing, racial jokes, gay humour, and general drunken ramblings, there's no better place to listen!

Not content to waste only 2 hours of our time, the boys of SLAMMED! come back for another two hours.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 53 - 05-15-10

Fresh from a visit to Invesco Field to remove a 5 year old curse from the Bronco statues in front of the staadium, Craig was in a good mood.

Face Ventura and the Whale both jumped in as we checked out this weeks' duel between an awkwardly comical commercial in the 90's for "Mr. Bucket" and a hilarious parody of the Wiggles entitled "The Clap."

The Magnificent 7 this week involved the seven worst songs a baseball player could possibly use for his intro music. Number 1 is particularly delightful, if you ask me.

John Kline of Elevation Radio checked in to discuss basketball, hockey, and most importantly this Sunday's Survivor Finale. For some reason, we kept putting a gun to John's head. Not sure why, but it was a fun gimmick.

We also had a great moment in Blog Talk History as a distraught Adam Miezin (noted Cavaliers fan) called in to a random show called "Vic the Brit" immediately after his Cavs were eliminated from the playoffs. This is not a joke, you bloody bloke! (Adam had been drinking, and was a bit depressed...great radio)

Finally, we tried to have a music recommendation, but the switchboard gave out, so instead we finish the show with The Whale and Craig singing the Dukes of Hazzard theme song. Quite the show.

The Ed Show - Episode 79 - 05-13-10

The Ed dropped a bombshell regarding his personal life, played some trivia, and then took a call from Cookie, Security Guy Irv's wife.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

LCS Hockey Show - Episode 169 - 05-12-10

We talked about the debacle that was the Pens/Grabs Game 7. The Ed called in. We went "Around BlogTalk" with Rob Van Dam and yapped about the Maxim Top 100. And then we finished up with a conspiracy segment on the dollar bill. Dollar, dollar bill, y'all.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 52 - 05-10-10

So this was supposed to just be a test show where I showed Face Ventura how to use the switchboard for a few minutes and then we hung up. Then Security Guy Irv called in...

We learned that Irv is a fast runner, we learned what it's like to be The Ed's boss, and we got to hear Irv's "threatening" voice. Irv was truly outstanding for the time I was on with him.

I had to put my daughter to bed, so I let Face take over, since he was controlling the switchboard anyway. Face enthralled us with stories of destroying things in Vegas with bowling balls and the like, he did the full 90 minute show.

I checked back in for about 10 minutes right near the end and chatted with Major Minority and Face.

This is far from our usual show, but I think it's worth checking out just to get a behind the scenes glimpse at the world of Security Guy Irv, plus you can hear Face Ventura working on his fake radio chops.

Major Minority Report - Episode 14 - 05-10-10

You set your expectations low and we limboed right under them! On tonight's we spoke with Security Guy Irv and Major Minority's cousin Georgina. We also had a pop culture review, a drink review, and some other nonsense. We hit a slump. We'll be back next week. Don't cry about it!

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 51 - 05-08-10

It was Episode 51, so we celebrated Area 51 by ranking the Magnificent 7 Greatest Alien movies, and this week's Duel question is which do you prefer: Happy Friendly Alien Movies or Evil Attacking Alien Movies.

We were also joined in the first half hour by The Ed fresh of his hibatus, who regaled us with his theories on illegal immigration.

We finished up by handing out the yellow and red cards to the Wankers of the world, and then a musical trip down memory lane with the Vertically Striped Music Recommendation from the 90's. The Squirrel Nut Zippers' album "Hot."

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 50 - 05-03-10

Face Ventura gets his own special show to announce his decision of which English Premier League team he is going to call his own. It was between Manchester United and Arsenal, and he made the wrong choice. Oh well, it allowed Craig to make fun of him quite a bit, plus we will now be able to mock his new team's anthem, which is ridiculous.

In addition to the soccer discussion, Craig had a big announcement in which he officially forgave the Boston Red Sox for 2007, and announced that the Sox would no longer be persona non grata in the Dodge household. Plus, Craig will cheer them on at Fenway next month.

The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was "You'll Never Walk Alone" by Sissell, but in all, we heard three different versions of the glorious Liverpool FC anthem. If only Face would have picked a righteous team like Liverpool...

Major Minority Report - Episode 13 - 05-03-10

"Win a Date With Doug" was played, we had a pop culture review, and we did a segment with our buddy Jay called, "Strip Club Ettiquette." But the big news... a very drunk, The Ed called in and broke his hibatus!!!!

Saturday, May 1, 2010

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 49 - 05-01-10

It was the Three Amigos edition of Vertically Striped Radio. Face and the Whale jumped in to listen in on a dueling set of Amigo songs in addition to helping us break down the Top 7 Television theme songs without lyrics.

We talked a bit of sports, as Craig's brother-in-law Marat called in to ask Craig how he feels about Tim Tebow and we discussed a bit about the Dez Bryant-Jeff Ireland situation where Ireland has been accused of asking Bryant if his mother is a prostitute.

Finally, and perhaps the best segment of the show, Larry from the LCS show dropped in to help us discuss the El Guapo conspiracy. The truth is out there, people!

We finished with a music recommendation that was somewhat of a dare...Don't even think that I didn't recommend "Africa" by Toto, because I totally did.

Fun show, today!
