Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 23
Halloween found Craig in a frazzled mood as his dogs and children were restless, never the less, he pressed on and spoke with The Ed, Face Ventura and The Whale...all of whom will not put ketchup on their dogs, so that's a plus. We discussed adults wearing costumes, the appropriate things to put on your hot dogs, Ed's lack of discipline in gambling, the World Series, is the confluence of women and sports a good thing, and even a tiny bit of hockey. Plus we were able to hear how well developed Craig's two year old's lungs are, Luke was happy to yell for us. Happy Halloween to all, and thanks for listening! The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was "Whatever and Ever Amen" by Ben Folds Five.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 22
Quite a show on today's program. Face Ventura showed up early and was quickly joined by The Ed who was checking in from Vegas with MJ Martin who was in town for Super Deluxe Baby Fights 1. Then we were joined a bit later on by Jerry Fairish and The Whale. We did talk a bit about baseball, the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys, but our biggest, longest and most interesting conversation had to do with breakfast cereals. We are all big fans of Boo Berry. It was a fun show, although I forgot to thank The Ed for showing up at the end of it, so Thanks The Ed! The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was "Has Been" by William Shatner. Yes, William Shatner.
The Southeast Sports Beat - Episode 11 - 10-24-09
Trace welcomes Brian into rap about the Panthers, Patriots, and a pathetic Tar Heel performance.
A somber ambiance permeates through the inner annals of the Smith Center as Trace bemoans the sad state of Car'lina (no O in Chapel Hill these days) football. Carucci pays us a visit to sing praises at the altar of Sir Tom Brady and to pick fun at Trace's lowly Panthers. The duo also discuss Trace's entry into "The EDBA" fantasy league and the results from the draft lottery.

The Vertically Striped Interview - Episode 2 - George Visger
My guest was former University of Colorado Buffalo and San Francisco 49er George Visger. George played on the defensive line for the University of Colorado football team in the late 70’s and went on to briefly play with the San Francisco 49ers
, his career was cut short due to traumatic brain injuries, and he has battled through this disability to become a successful businessman and motivational speaker. George has had 9 brain surgeries due to his football injuries, and has recently spoken with Dr. Omalu a renowned brain scientist who has been in the news due to his research into the connection between playing NFL football and brain trauma with Alzheimer like symptoms. Dr. Omalu has asked George to sit on his board. George joined us to talk about his playing days as well as his injuries, his ongoing recovery and overcoming difficulties to find success in life. We also discussed the physical and moral implications of brain injuries to football players. I was very pleased to speak with George, and it was a fascinating interview.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 21
Episode 21 was a beauty! We unveiled the Magnificent 7 top Vertically Striped approved Beer list in honor of the Beer thread on dameshek.com because let's face, Beer rules. The Ed dropped in and gave his medicine for college football. We were going to ask him about the lady that cooks his food, but BlogTalk freaked out and hung up on everyone...keep listening when that happens, as we get back on in a minute or two. Just BlogTalk being BlogTalk. I also dropped a little knowledge on the audience that I picked up this week about a dark time in the history of Colorado known as the Ludlow Massacre. (It's a pretty nutty story, hard to believe it happened in the United States.) Of course, We talked a bit about our Denver Broncos, MJ was on hand to give his take on the Broncos as well as their so ugly they're beautiful retro uniforms. The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was Modest Mouse's "We were dead before the ship even sank."

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 20
Craig was prepping for a big sports day in Denver, with the Broncos getting ready for the Patriots, and the Rockies getting ready to host the Phillies in the divisional baseball playoffs. To honor the Broncos wearing their Vertically Striped Socks, Craig did a Magnificent Seven list of the 7 Ugliest uniforms in the NFL. The Ed, Face Ventura and the Whale all jumped in to say hi, and they all helped with the list. Ed pretty much said I have no style, as he disagreed with me putting the Texans All-Red uniforms, the Dolphins Orange jerseys and the Seahawks Green uniforms on the list. The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was "Notes from Elsewhere" by Peter Mulvey.
