Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 31
It was the Christmas spectacular edition of VSR. Face Ventura came on and threatened to never come back if I played Feliz Navidad again. The Ed dialed in from pump 12 where he had gotten $20 worth of gas to promote the Super Deluxe Baby Fights and explain why if you're an American you must cheer for Floyd Mayweather. We did a magnificent 7 list of Seven great Christmas songs and I discussed why Santa and I are not on friendly terms. Rather than doing a music recommendation, I played us out with the Weird Al Christmas classic..."The Night Santa went Crazy"

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 30
Twas the show before Christmas... Yeah, I'm not going to make the show recap a corny Christmas poem. The Ed dropped in to say hello to the show and spread his knowledge about sports in general as well as give some updates on the Dameshek.com Convention and give us a preview of the 2010 edition of the Ed Times...which will apparently have a self-ignition switch so that it will start reading itself. That Ed is always innovating! Face Ventura and The Whale, my two most loyal callers, chimed in to help me discuss my Magnificent 7 list which was a recap of Seven signs that our world is going to the dogs as seen from a hockey game at the Pepsi Center. We also had some good conversations about a wide variety of sports related topics and I shared my hope to win the semi-Final of the Dameshek.com fantasy league against Jerry Fairish so that I can change his avatar. The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was "In Rainbows" by Radiohead, and the song I played was "Jigsaw Falling into Place."

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 29
This episode was dominated by the Ed who has announced that he is quitting the Dameshek.com message board because of people talking bad about him. He also talked about finding the mysterious Ted Willer. While this was far from the best effort out of Vertically Striped Radio it's maybe worth listening to this one for the Ed, and for the fantastic rap song from sports figures freaking out at various press events. I also played a phone call that I made to the Nestle Crunch hotline, which you can call and enjoy if you like by dialing 1-800-295-0051. Thanks to The Ed, The Whale, and Face Ventura for helping me through this Winter Doldrums edition of Vertically Striped Radio. The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" by Phoenix. Let me close by saying, "Don't quit, The Ed."

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 28
The show started oddly, as my kids were dropped off at my house by the grandparents two minutes before the show started...so I broke out a segment from the NPR show "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me." My mom thought my show was over, and she graciously took my kids to Disney on Ice, so she gets a pass. Once the show got back underway, we had a solid effort. I had several guests from the Dameshek.com message board, including Major Minority, Face Ventura, and The Whale. We discussed apologizing as an epidemic which naturally led to a good conversation about Tiger Woods. After discussing how we needed to "Leave Tiger Woods alone" complete with my wonderful singing pipes being broadcast for all to hear, we did a Contender-Pretender segment on NFL teams. We finished off by taking a page from the LCS Hockey Show and talking a little bit of hockey. Actually, it was almost exclusively Florida Panthers hockey, which is not exactly a scintillating topic, but it was a fun conversation and it allowed me to plug the Dan Lebotard show. The BlogTalk switchboard gave out on me and didn't allow me to play any more clips, so the Vertically Striped Music recommendation will have to wait until next week.

In a special conspiracy show, Evan Long, the man behind "The Columbine Cause" movie, paid a visit to explore the true details of the Columbine shooting. Was it merely a case of troubled youth combining with local police incompetence? Or was Columbine a staged shooting, perpetrated by the government to gain political advantage and further tear apart American society? Please visit Evan's site TheColumbineCause.tk and help spread the word.

Some hockey talk until we were saved by the great Cousin Brandon, who talked about his latest entry into the "Angry Alphabet" series... the letter Z. Brandon and Matt Diggs also discuss the truth behind the astrological charts, plus Brandon talked some fantasy football. Check out Brandon's work at cousinbrandon.wordpress.com. The Ed stopped by as well to discuss a woman's role while watching sports, and he also reenacted what Tiger Woods should have said at his press conference. Mikedell reviews "The Wrestler," we talked "Mad Men," and we featured another segment in the award-winning conspiracy theories of mikedell. This time he tackled Columbine. And for more info on that please check out TheColumbineCause.tk.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 27
We had some fun crazy people in the news, including a drunk guy ramming a hot dog stand and a woman who saw Jesus in her Iron. Aaron Young of the No Name Show dropped in to tell us about a man who lived as a zoo exhibit in the World's Fair around 100 years ago, and Face Ventura helped me co-pilot the show as we did a fantastic version of the Magnificent 7 - Top Seven Football Coach Freakouts at Press Conferences. Face also tried to defend the honor of Thanksgiving turkey, as my family celebrated the holiday with BBBQ Brisket, and I've got to say I haven't had any complaints about the decision here locally. The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was "Rock Spectacle" a live album from the Barenaked Ladies, and another one of my all time faves from the mid-nineties.
