People are shooting themselves with harpoons, fighting baboons, and calling cops on copulating kittens. It's a crazy world we live in, and Craig, Face, and The Whale tried to make sense of it by discussing the greatest piece of surveillance video ever recorded and counting down the Magnificent Seven Jobs We'd Never Want To Do, amongst other discussions. The musical recommendation this week was "Where Has Sally Gone?" by Caroline Smith and the Good Night Sleeps.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 210 - 04-20-13 - Backpage Press Confidential
With the Nuggets set to open the playoffs at the usual start time of Vertically Striped Radio, Craig reached out to Cory from BackpagePress.com to share about his store and his story. What follows is an intimate and brave discussion about the limits of trying to live life without help. Far from our usual fare on VSR, but a this is a tremendous and real offering from our pal Cory.
We wrap up with a new show tradition of our VSR style James Lipton questions with Cory, and to honor the strength of the people of Boston, we play a Red Sox tradition with a Waylon Jennings twist as our musical recommendation of the week.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 209 - 04-13-13 - Blatant Black Guy
The Avalanche won a game in the final ten seconds, and that oddity bled into the entire episode of VSR. We had Killer Beavers, Cookie Monster attacks, and Zombie Hallucinations causing freeway pileups...and that was just the news.
Craig and Face then discussed items including Roger Ebert's passing, the Zero TV Generation, the sadness of an Applebees on a Tuesday afternoon, potato chips, and the oddness of mailing a goat's head to the Cubs organization.
Episode 209 wrapped up with a music recommendation from Cloud Cult of "The Show Starts Now" which was a lovely and ironic way to end the show.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 208 - 03-30-13 - Hall of Fame Worthy
Urinal gaming, drunken face sharpie-ing, and a wedding-funeral...and that was just the news. In a brief, yet somehow "Hall of Fame worthy" episode we managed to discuss all manner of silliness including the ACME monopoly, Face watching a car explode, the nature of mysteries, and proper T-Shirt cannon etiquette All this, plus a discussion of the recent Hall of Fame of Everything shenanigans at Dameshek.com and a musical recommendation of Gomez covering "Up on Cripple Creek" by The Band.
Mug shot of a man who was arrested for beating up his roommate after that roommate drew on his face while he was drunk.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 207 - 03-23-13 - On Board the Truimph
The first hour is an interview with an old college friend of Craig's, Joy Dyer. Joy was on board the Carnival cruise ship Triumph which broke down in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico back in February. Joy gives us a view into what it was like to be on that ship.
On the second hour, we are joined by Indie Sarah, Face and The Whale as we talk about podcasting, dueling to the death with sausages, odd book titles, and discuss how crisis was narrowly averted as someone other than Harrison Ford almost played Indiana Jones.
It's a very fun show that wraps up with a music recommendation from Dr. Dog of "That Old Black Hole" followed by a song that SHOULD be the new Robot Rabbit theme song by We Wrote the Book on Connectors..."If I didn't"

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 206 - 03-16-13 - Elvis Dumervil's Fax Machine
Craig was a little torqued that a fax machine screwed over his Denver Broncos. He managed to recover to talk with Face and the Whale about children eating prophylactics, the new pope, 3D printing changing the world, McDonalds and Taco Bell menu items, and Dennis Rodman as international goodwill ambassador. The music recommendation was Hypocritical Kiss by Jack White.
This woman has stolen an iPad and is unwittingly posting ridiculous pictures like this one to the victim's iCloud photo stream.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 205 - 03-09-13 - Justice for Hamsters
It was a pseudo Slacker Saturday, but somehow it all worked out today. Face showed up a tiny bit late due to a disgusting and mysterious hand injury, but we were able to talk a little hockey as well as honor the great Stompin' Tom Connors who passed away this week.
We then welcomed in The Whale, and the standard VSR crew did a 2012 year in review and rambled on about this and that in a most pleasing way. Considering the shockingly small amount of show prep that went into this show, I couldn't have been more pleased with the resulting show.
The music recommendation was from the late nineties with The Wallflowers "Angel on my Bike".
Be sure to check out Face and Craig when they guest on Robot Rabbit this Tuesday on the LCS Podcast
Network!
Face's swollen hand. Thanks, staph infection!

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 204 - 03-02-13 - The Musical Stylings of Lil Poopy
Craig has taken up coffee for Lent, and as a result he was buzzing and ready to roll for Episode 204. Joined by Face, the core of Vertically Striped Radio discussed a tiny bit of sports including the Week in Avalanche hockey and the ridiculousness of Joe Flacco being the highest paid football player of all time before jumping into the news, a new edition of "Something to Think About" and honoring the newest inductee to the VSR Hall of Fame with a Magnificent Seven of the "Top Seven Doctor Suess Quotes". We wrapped with a musical recommendation of "We Used to Vacation" by The Cold War Kids and then had a musical encore of some terrible rap by "Lil Poopy".

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 203 - 02-23-13 - They Can't All Be Winners
The show was postponed an hour due to the Avalanche-Kings game, and it probably should have just been cancelled. We'll keep this one in the feed for the historical record, but we won't be sending it to the Fake Radio Hall of Fame. Lets just say that it seems appropriate that we discussed Titanic II on this episode.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 202 - 02-16-13 - Noble Norwegian Television
On this episode of VSR the gang "celebrates" Valentines Day, takes a look at American holiday spending, introduces a new segment called "Face vs The News" and counts down the Magnificent Seven Things that ALMOST everyone likes. We even wrap with a recommendation from a band you might have heard of before...some group called The Beatles with When I'm Sixty-Four.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 201 - 02-09-13 - The Battle of God
Despite football being about as far away as it can be, Craig was in a good mood thanks to impending minor league hockey. He was joined by Face and The Whale and the boys discussed topics as random as a man and his mother open mouth kissing in prison (to smuggle drugs, naturally), the Super Bowl power outage, people named Rambo vs. people named Funk, the viability of coffins as toys, Joe Theismann's unfortunate Twitter luck, and the etymological history of the word sugar.
Yup, it was a odd show centered around the Magnificent Seven top weird things about Super Bowl 47 and a brand new edition of "Something to Think About". The musical recommendation this week was "I Know" from Dear and the Headlights.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 200 - 02-02-13 - Urban Chickens
With the Super Bowl a day away and the Avalanche game ending right as the show began and this being the milestone 200th episode of VSR and the show being set to take on Star Wars and it being Groundhogs Day...it is safe to say that there might have a bit too much going on for this edition of Vertically Striped Radio.
Still, the boys did their best to take it all in as we broke down the Super Bowl match-up "scientifically" to determine which team people should be rooting for in the match-up of the Ravens and 49ers.
In the second hour of the show, the He-Man Movie Watchers Club discussed the documentary "The People vs. George Lucas" and let our inner Star Wars Geek play a little as we discussed the good and the bad of George Lucas as he relates to the Star Wars world and the philosophical question of Who does art truly belong to? We wrapped up with a musical recommendation from Cat Stevens of "If you want to sing out, sing out"

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 199 - 01-26-13 - Tortillas and Beer
A week after having absolutely nothing prepared, VSR was hopping.
Craig's best friend Doug stopped in to give some theories on when it's okay for a man to drive a convertible, Craig explained how he terrified a local jogger, Craig unveiled the Simpsons Fusion Theory, and we spent a good chunk of time discussing Face's bizarre eating habits.
Then, just as the show was about to end, Elevation called in to read a letter he claimed was forwarded on to him by IndieSarah. The actual contents of said letter are as scandalous as they are fraudulent, but it made for a bit of fun at Craig's expense.
The show wrapped up with a music recommendation of "Classic Cars" by Bright Eyes. Many thanks to The Whale, Elevation, Face, and Doug for all dropping in for a very fun episode of the show.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 198 - 01-19-13 - Slacker Saturday
Craig institutes "Slacker Saturday". With no real preparation or motivation, Craig, Face and the Whale discuss a whole lot of sports including NHL Opening Day, the NFL Conference Championship Games, Lance Armstrong and how we don't care about if he cheated or not, and the bizarre Manti Te'o story.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 197 - 01-12-13 - Ouch
It hurts. After seeing the Broncos collapse in an epic playoff battle with Baltimore, Craig comes on the air to try and purge some of his sadness with the Blogtalk audience. Face and Elevation call in to talk him off the ledge a bit. The impromptu therapy session helps soothe the raw nerves of a Denver fan that had suffered enough today. Seriously, how do you give up a 70 yard touchdown to a team with no timeouts in the final 40 seconds of a game that you lead by 7???
Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 196 - 01-12-13 - United in Orange
The show Started early due to the fact that Craig's brain would explode if he tried to do a show while watching his Broncos. Ed and Face joined and we talked a whole lot of NFL football.
