SLAMMED! RELOADED! SLAMMED!, the show where Face Ventura, Larry from LCS Hockey show fame, and possibly Morgan Spurlock throw on a drunk while hosting a fake radio show returns. Not repeating the same mistakes twice, this edition will feature a drunken spelling bee, a The Ed drinking game, Craig's List Roulette, and more.
MMR Quickie Duece On this short podcast we did the pop culture review, recorded some commercials for other blogtalk shows, and found out why Shelly was a "mean girl." Doug free is the way to be! Team Drew! Team Shelly!
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW It was the triumphant return of one Jim Iovino to the LCS airwaves. Jim talked hockey and his encounters with celebrity chefs. The Ed was here briefly before feeling ill from all the "paperwork" that he had to do. In the second hour, Bob Fox from Packerchatters.com was here and had a fantasy football preview to prepare all 13 listeners for their upcoming drafts. You're welcome.
80s TV For the second week in a row, a guest called Big Steve "stupid". Tonight, the No Name Show crew discussed the best 80s TV shows. The Ed was on for the first hour or so and we got a little sidetracked (surprise, surprise). We played a little game about 80s TV Show Theme Songs, I talked about Eleazer The Giant, and we made a couple announcements about some exciting stuff starting next week. It was a bit of a confusing mess of a show but, as always with The Ed, very entertaining.
This show is the shot heard round the world in the pseudo war between Denver and Cleveland. Cleveland doesn't win the battle. Craig, Face Ventura, and the Whale navigate through the Week in Wankery, the instructions for The Shek Republic in a week, and a very special Magnificent 7 of why you don't have to say anything to make fun of Cleveland. Although, to be fair, we worked with the Cleveland board of tourism on their new slogan, "Cleveland. We're not Detroit!" which I think should go gangbusters for them. Towards the end of the show, Elevation shows up as does the Ed in what should have been the last 10 minutes of the show. It went MUCH longer than that...Amazingly by Blogtalk standards, all of it recorded, and it gets interesting towards the end. Let's leave it at that.
The Ed started the show by nearly choking to death and then informed everyone he's moving back in with his son. Whether or not he takes The Baby with him is open for debate.
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW Cousin Brandon, Larry and mikedell do their Top 11 Movies We Haven't Seen. Casablanca? Brandon needs punched. We had a Big Brother update and The Ed stopped by briefly before mikedell wrapped up the show with a conspiracy on Jay-Z and the Illuminati.
Shelly had a jam, and Doug and Craig Dodge gave her some invaluable advice. Also, we profiled 18Nalax, aka Tony Juliet Grese as the MMR listener of the week. We spoke about the Knicks, what to do when you're pulled over, and why the beach stinks. Stay tuned in the end for a bonus, behind the scenes conversation between Craig, Drew, LaMont and Face Ventura!
Join the No Name Show crew as we discussed our heroes, past and present. The discussion also included who the coolest character from Tombstone is. We also played The Nickname Game, talked sports, movies, and received a phone call from none other than Mel Gibson.
It was the commercial version of VSR, in that we were playing commercials. We didn't get paid for them, though, so I need to rethink my business strategy. The first half of the show was basically a Saturday edition of the Ed Show, as The Ed called in and told Craig and Face about his weight loss plan and showed us his prowess at spelling...The Ed can spell ANYTHING! After the Ed said goodbye, Craig unveiled his Magnificent Seven Semi-Embarrassing confessions...Where Craig revealed that his motto has always been "When it's right it's right." The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was from Powderfinger, but it sort of blew up half-way through for some reason, so Craig finished up the show by playing the third edition of Doug on Demand. If you enjoy train wrecks, you'll love this show! It might be entertaining, but it definitely went off the tracks a bit...and I think it was better as a result. Definitely listen for The Ed!
The Ed Show The Ed welcomed Bishop Barry and William Buie from Jesus Christ Bail Bonds. Bail out! Bail out! Bail out! Don't forget to visit their web site at bailoutbailoutbailout.com. Jee-sus!
Elevation Radio with John Eisenberg Hear John's interview with the amazingly informative John Eisenberg, the award winning author and sports columnist. Highlights include John's trip to the World Cup, memories of Steinbrenner, the craziness of Texas high school football, the decline of the Orioles, newspapers, and horse racing in Maryland, and his thoughts on Vince Lombardi. Click the link to purchase John's book "That First Season: How Vince Lombardi Took the Worst Team in the NFL and Set It on the Path to Glory" Also hear John Kline's thoughts on LeDebacle, the World Cup, and his All World Cup Team.
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW The Ed started off the show talking about his new "movies." But we were soon joined by "Daves of Thunder" star Dave Dameshek, the greatest podcaster in history. Aside from making amends with The Ed, Dave talked baseball, Simpleton the Butler, and his various celebrity encounters, like meeting Ralph Machio. Cousin Brandon then jumped on for a "Mad Men" discussion. Check out Dave's fine work at http://www.adamcarolla.com/DNDBlog
Major Minority Report Episode 22 It was Nycole and Andrew's 2nd year wedding anniversary, and to celebrate, Doug interviewed them about their relationship... and more. We also played several Public Service Announcements throughout the show, and spoke of the evils of digital cameras.
Lebron is taking his talents to South Beach, and Craig took his talents to the fake airwaves on Saturday. Well...saying talents might be more than just a little bit of overselling, but VSR was live on the air this evening for an abbreviated edition. For a shorter show, we sure covered a lot. Craig started by reading a bit of Literature that is an instant American classic...Dan Gilbert's letter to the Cleveland people about Lebron James...in Comic Sans font to really make it special! In addition to spending a lot of time talking about Lebron, we also had an episode of "The Duel" which matched up Rainbow Enthusiasm versus Rainbow Conspiracy in a match up that is so competitive that I still can't decide which I want to vote for. After the Rainbow talk, Face Ventura and Craig were joined by the Ed who gave us an update on his life and tried to convince us that he only weighs 140 pounds despite the fact that he ate ten thousand Oreo cookies last year. I find it very hard to believe he only weighs 140. The Ed also talked over how the Miami Heat will not win the Eastern Conference next year, and how the Eastern Champs for 2010-11 will be the Chicago Bulls. I think the Heat will win it all next year, but we'll see who is right when basketball season rolls around again. The Whale joined in towards the end of the show, and I played him a version of the Andy Griffith Show theme with lyrics because he had been interested in hearing that. We finished the show up with a Vertically Striped Music recommendation, where Craig recommends the song "The Cave" by Mumford & Sons. All in all, a solid effort, even if it was cut short to only an hour due to Craig having to leave to go to the Rockies game at Coors Field tonight. (Rockies won 4-2 over the Padres, by the way!)
The Ed reminds everyone that he predicted LeBum James would play with Wade and Bosh long before anyone else even considered the idea. The Ed is a genius.
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW The Ed was talking some NBA, UFC and fantasy football. We talked NHL free agency. Also previewed the new season of Big Brother along with a top 11 Big Brother seasons lists. And we finished up with a Scientology Conspiracy.
Aaron Young is a Big Fat Liar: No Name Show Returns!
For some reason my cell phone didn't work so the first 25 minutes or so is dead air. Sorry about that. The rest of the show is gold though: The show that takes more hibatuses than The Ed is back and worse than ever . . . I mean better than ever. Join Aaron and his new co-hosts for a 90 romp that will discuss everything from waterfalls to music to sports to what it's like living in a foreign country. We'll even play a new game called "Who Would Win In A Fight" so we'll need a contestant for that. Don't miss this special episode of the award winning* No Name Show. * 2009 Eddie Award Winner for Best Show Nobody Listens To
Twas the day before Independence Day, and the whole gang was dressed in their finest formal wear for the presentation of the 2nd annual Sockie awards. The Vertically Striped Academy of Arts, Sciences, and other Neato Stuff broke out the 2010 Vertically Striped Awards for Excellence in the Field of Excellence. The winners were overjoyed, to be sure, and included the likes of Ben Roethlisberger, the color Orange, and even our very own Face Ventura. You could cut the tension with a spork when the People's Choice Sockie award was decided by an on-air coin flip...Congrats to the LCS Hockey Show!! In addition to the Sockies, Elevation, Face Ventura, and The Whale joined Craig to discuss the top seven World Cup "kits" in a very special Magnificent Seven list. Face even did prep for the list, although, he didn't prep his phone sufficiently as both his cell phone and his Skype connection via his laptop died during the show. He was around long enough to get in his very vanilla Top World Cup uniform list in. (Personally, I think mine was better...Denmark? Really??) We also learned about the craziness of Ron Artest, who I find to be likable now after MANY years of finding him despicable. We broke down his post NBA Finals Game 7 press conference craziness. The man likes attention, this much is certain. We also looked in on the continuing saga of the difficulty of being a Self-Help show. (Our thanks to "The Hoff!") We're just so in demand...and remember kids...DON'T drink and drive!!! The Vertically Striped Music Recommendation was "July, July!" by the Decemberists. Happy 4th of July everyone!
The Ed Show The Ed spent the night taking calls from his many fans, including the great Spanky Brown. But the true highlight was hearing from those crazy kids from TheAfternoonDLight. Them boys is good.
