LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW We talked some puck, welcomed The Ed, and discussed "Storage Wars," "Archer," and "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World." We closed the show with a conspiracy segment on the death of George Reeves, TV's original Superman.
The No Name Show is Good Enough For You The No Name Show crew will cover The Goonies from all angles. We'll discuss the plot, errors in the movie, and give the Top 7 Best Lines from The Goonies. In addition we'll talk about Christmas, give the Douche of the Week, etc. We will even play a new game called "Who Got What For Christmas".
It was the LCS Hockey Radio Show 200th Episode Extravaganza. Cousin Brandon, Larry and mikedell lead off the show with Top 11 Movies That Remind You of Yourself. The Ed called. He couldn't find his tickets. Then we relived the show's greatest moments.
No Name Awards Show It's a big night for the No Name Show as we hand out our 2010 No Name Awards. Categories include: Best Co-Host of a Fake Radio Show Northwest Athlete of the Year Best Fast Food Item Weather Phenomenon of the Year and the highly coveted Waterfall Hunter of the Year
Twas the week before Christmas, and Craig's mom just got an iPhone which had his world in a bit of a tizzy. He recovered enough to talk through all sorts of issues with Face Ventura and The Whale. Together they carded some wankers for their wankerish behavior, discussed a potential Blogtalk radio co-op, provided the listeners with some wonderful Christmas gift ideas, and held the 4th Edition of the He-Man movie watchers club where sadly, they discussed D2: The Mighty Ducks. Such a terrible, terrible movie.
The show finished up with the movie recommendation: Needtobreathe's great song, "More Time." No show next week, due to Christmas. We'll see ya in 2011.
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW Just random chit-chat including Pens/Caps 24/7, Blogtalk Radio, Top Chef and Sidney Crosby's mustache. Hour number 2 was all SNL including dueling Top 11 lists involving cast members and even a mini-conspiracy.
The After Party The No Name Show crew is recovering from our annual Christmas party but we're still doing a show. We'll take a look at what happened at the party and play some audio clips. We'll also take calls from anyone who wants to sing us a Christmas carol so feel free to call up or send us your song.
Craig was slightly irritated at the Christmas shoppers, but still found joy in his heart owing to the fact that Josh McDaniels has been shipped out of Denver. Also, A big decision is announced, as Craig has been mulling fantasy football retirement for weeks and he used Episode Ocho Cinco to declare his intentions. Craig, Face and The Whale also discuss the benefits of not being self-aware.
Finally, we do a little navel gazing by announcing the Magnificent Seven best VSR intros of all time. It's a walk down memory lane, including the return of one of the most beloved Fake radio intros of all time which makes us miss our buddy MJ. The Vertically Striped Music recommendation was "Happy Kid" by Nada Surf.
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW Cousin Brandon was full of wine and not afraid to let everyone know it. Security Guy Irv called in to tell the people that he will be appearing on "Minute To Win It" sometime in the spring and even sings a duet of "Ebony and Ivory" with Cousin Brandon. Talked some movies and TV and the Top 11 list was Top 11 Top 11 Ideas We Never Did.
Leslie Nielsen Tribute Show The No Name Show pays homage to one of the funniest men in movie history. We'll do our Top 7 Leslie Nielsen lines and talk about the great career that he had. Here's his filmography: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000558/ In addition we'll do all the standard nonsense like the Douche of the Week, sports with Trip Collins, etc.
After a snowman themed newscast, Face, The Whale, and Craig break down the Derek Anderson post-Monday Night Football press conference melt-down. I say leave Derek alone, he's allowed to laugh on the sidelines. That morphed into a discussion about, what else, Lebron James and the Cleveland fan experience. I am pro-Cleveland fan, by the way.
After the sports discussion, we went into "fashion" speak with the Magnificent Seven NFL Throwback Uniforms.
Our third installment of the He-Man woman haters club had us discussing the Redford-Newman classic "The Sting" and the ridiculously prolific career of "That Guy" Dana Alcar.
The music recommendation was from Caspar Babypants a brilliant kids artist and former member of "The Presidents of the United States of America" as we recommended the songs "9.99" and "Googly Eyes."
Puck Daddy Greg Wyshynski was here talking hockey, mentioned his Star Wars bathroom and sat in on dueling Top 11 Star Wars-themed lists. The Ed says he's thinking of suing the Atlanta Thrashers and also claims that he's tax exempt. Plus mikedell's Pants, What's Annoying Larry and Wikileaks conspiracy chatter.
No Name Show - Tryptophan Induced Coma We're still feeling the effects from our Thanksgiving dinners, but that won't stop the No Name Show crew from putting out the most electrifying show on Blog Talk Radio. We'll play Your Best Guess among other good stuff. Call in and join the fun.
It was the "Much too early for a Christmas special, Christmas Special" on Vertically Striped Radio. We had a duel of Canada versus Mexico comedy kids to see which border nation people would prefer, with the McKenzie brothers doing battle with Cheech and Chong. Face and the Whale joined in and we discussed the best and worst things about Christmas, and we listened to a woman who has truly embraced the real spirit of Black Friday. Our movie club now has a name, and we unveiled it today as the "He-Man Movie Watchers Club" held it's second session as we discussed the "Christmas" movie Die Hard. I finished by unveiling a new VSR holiday tradition of being serenaded by the worst version of "O Holy Night" that has likely ever been recorded. It's so bad that it's wonderful. We finished with the music recommendation of Frank Sinatra's "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas." and a little "Feliz Navidad" thrown in at the end to honor Face. Merry Christmas much too early, everyone!
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW We talked hockey at the top including Steve Stamkos, The Penguins and the beginnings of LCS Hockey's Top 100 players list. The Ed called in with some Thanksgiving memories and a preview of his new show, "Judge Ed Miller". We checked in on mikedell's Pants, What's Annoying Larry and talk some TV. And in the battle of Larry vs Beer, Beer won.
The Showdown The heated rivalry between Big Steve and our pal David Escalante will come to an end this week with the Loser-Leaves-The-Show Trivia Showdown. Whoever loses will be permanently banned from appearing on the No Name Show. But before we get to that, we'll have the usual nonsense like the Douche of the Week, Fun With Words, Big Steve's Male Sac (last one ever maybe?), etc. We'll also introduce the show's new sports reporter - Trip Collins, "The World's Most Exciting Sportscaster" and give the Top 7 TV Game Show Theme Songs. It's going to be a doosy.
It was the pre-game party for the Colorado Rapids as they prepared for the MLS Cup Championship game. (Which they won!) VSR celebrated by barely talking about them, although I did declare that I was very interested in the game. (I ended up watching it at a Rapids party that was VERY amped about the game, which was fun.)
Face Ventura and The Whale called in, and we discussed the upcoming "Much too early for a Christmas Special Christmas Special" that we will be doing next week. We also unveiled the final first round matchup in the Super Mario Music tournament.
The main discussion of the show revolved around the 1976 Epic movie "Rocky" which was pretty much universally loved on for 40 minutes.
The show closed with a recommendation of "Do You Realize" by The Flaming Lips, and if you hold out to the very end you can hear a reading of "The Big Orange Splot" a kids book that I just love.
The Ed welcomed Chandler Bigguns from Absolute Intense Wrestling. Be sure and check out Chandler and the AIW at AIWrestling.com. The Ed also chatted with Security Guy Irv and then tried to go to Barber School.
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW The Ed called in to talk some nonsense. Including a story about a 7-11 he robbed. Cousin Brandon failed to show for "Back to the Future" trivia (scared), so Larry answered the questions alone. 5-0 tried to save the show to no avail. Sean Leahy from Puck Daddy discusses mikedell's list of Top 100 NHL Players.
It was a special day on Vertically Striped Radio. Face and The Ed both called in right at the top of the show, and The Ed had a world exclusive for VSR. It appears that he and Little Bobby found a silver dollar. Yes, that was the big news. Granted, it was a silver dollar from 1796, he said, and he also said that he sold it for 1300 bucks, but that was the big exclusive that Ed brought to light on the show.
Then, in a move that has been much anticipated throughout the World Wide Web, my cousin Tawni called in to play "Pitch! Some! Woo!" After a large amount of demand, no one else called in, so we were left with Ed and Face showing how they would impress a woman. Face won in the grading as he got a C, and Ed got an F+.
After thanking Tawni for calling in, Face and I finished up the show by unveiling the Magnificent Seven: 7 Worst Candies list. Then we matched up the 3 seed and 6 seed in the Super Mario music tournament matching a violin with a banjo.
We signed off by making a music recommendation of the song "The World Spun Madly On" by The Weepies. A talented group with an unfortunate name.
The Ed Show The Ed's having more issues with his living situation. He also talked to his pal Security Guy Irv, made his Week 10 NFL picks, and tried to get a job at Taco Bell.
LCS HOCKEY RADIO SHOW Bob Fox from packerchatters.com joined in with mikedell and The Ed for a round-table discussion about the NFL's Top 100 players list. We went Around Blogtalk, checked-in on mikedell's Pants and found out What's Annoying Larry. Finished up with a mini-conspiracy on Jon Stewart.
